We meet regularly and discuss issues that need to be added or altered to make our service a more patient friendly one. This is Year 1 of our group and we have elected to look at improvements in three areas as suggested by our group. These are: firstly, to take advice on our appointment system and we have now built in forward booking appointments, have extra emergency slots included and have added extra slots with every doctor each week. Secondly, we have decided to put all our important contact telephone numbers and our hours on a credit card sized information card so people can carry them in their wallets. Thirdly, we plan to use our practice website for greater communication with our patients.
We ran a short survey and discussed this with our Patient Group and came up with the above three points to work on. So far, we have altered our appointment system so you can now book ahead for all GPs and there are a number of emergency slots available each day. Also we are in the process of expanding our website.
We have publicised these actions in our surgery and now on our website.
